Let the sun shine

Sometimes we don’t always think the most positively about ourselves. We tell ourselves hurtful things, call ourselves names, and think quite poorly about ourselves at times.

For some of us, it becomes the norm in our lives. We get into this habitual self-sabotaging cycle of negative thinking.

We tell ourselves we’re not good enough, not beautiful enough, not smart enough, not thin enough..

..and why do we do this?

We expend so much energy in the form of stress, tears, and grief.

..and for what? Where does it lead us?

Well, no where, really. Except for into a perpetual cycle, that never ends, and worsens over time.

Such a time waste. Such a LIFE waste. ..but we still do it!

Researchers suggest that we humans have an average of 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. (Now that’s a lot thoughts!)

This leaves a lot of room for negativity to take over, if you allow it to.

But what if we disrupted the cycle? What if we started taking note of all the negative thoughts we think? What if we took immediate action to turn the negative thoughts into opposite and equal positive ones?

I think we might just feel a little lighter, a little more joyful throughout the day.

When we rid our minds of the storm clouds, the sun peeks out, and shines on us its happiness and warmth. It gives us hope. We start feeling a little safer, a little more loved.

But it all has to begin from within. It is possible to tame your thoughts, but takes a bit of practice at first.

Try it out today.

When you notice a negative thought forming in your mind, turn it around and upside down. Smile at yourself in the mirror. Tell yourself you’re beautiful. Tell yourself you’re loved. Tell yourself you’re good enough. Tell yourself you’re smart enough. Tell yourself you are able.

Our minds are a bit naive sometimes. They believe everything we tell them.

If our minds believe so much of what we tell them, let’s start telling them about how AWESOME we are! Let’s stop dwelling on the past issues and start living in today. Enjoy the time we have now, ’cause all we’re really promised is now.

What thoughts do you struggle with the most? What steps will you take to improve them?

Choose to believe

We create our own reality.”

I didn’t believe this for a long time. I guess it was just easier not to.

Sometimes it’s unsettling to think that the place we’re at in our lives this very moment is due to our own choices. All the tiny choices we’ve made over the years have led us to this very spot.

I hope you like the view, because whether on purpose or by accident, you are here.

I think it makes us feel better to believe we have no control over any aspect of our lives. That way, we have less responsibility; something external will always be there to take the blame.

We make-believe that other people or events are responsible for the way our lives have turned out thus far, but this couldn’t be farther from the truth.

The accumulation of our past decisions and actions have created who we are today.

Let’s think about this for a second.

Every action we take has a direct impact on our future. So if our actions today are creating our tomorrow, are we making these actions the most purposeful and wise?

We know we don’t always make the best decisions, but are we learning from the mistakes and making better decisions in the future?

Are we taking the lessons learned and improving ourselves with each day?

We create our own reality.”

This idea is quite liberating once realized. I mean, we have the power to make our lives absolutely beautiful, absolutely wonderful.

We just have to believe it.

Lets choose to believe. Let’s make our reality as bright as the sun shines and pave our way to a grand future.

Do it anyway

Ever had any of those annoying tasks on your never-ending to-do list’ that just never get done?

I know I have.

And it’s terrible. There seems to be this constant war going on within my mind until I get the darn thing done.

Yet we prolong the pain. We wait until later. We think: “I’ve worked hard enough today, maybe I’ll feel like doing it tomorrow.”

And the war goes on.

Because, (secretly), we really DO want to just get it done, mark it off the list, and be through with it.

But, we make these simple tasks seem so extraordinarily HUGE and SCARY and difficult . We make them out to be much worse than they really are. We cause ourselves more grief by putting them off, than if we would have just tackled them right away!

Then, even worse, we STILL put them off! And the longer we put them off, the longer they get pushed to the side to make room for simpler, less scary tasks. What a cycle, huh?

What if we tried this instead?

The next time you ‘don’t feel like‘ doing something, acknowledge the fact that you just don’t want to do it. Be 100% honest with yourself: “I know I need to do ___, but I just don’t feel like it!”

Then do it anyway.

No more whining. No more complaining.

Don’t feel like it?

Acknowledge those feelings, then do it anyway.

Nature’s Magic

There is magic in nature.

A natural energy surrounds us, forever humming with no master. Coming from all directions.

We can’t see it.

We can’t touch it.

We feel it.

Nature knows no silence.

The abundance of love it has to offer. We owe nothing in return.

Our souls overflow with gratitude. with kindness. with peace. A precious feeling, it is.

There is magic in nature..

Can you feel it?
