Anyone can learn to code!

So last year, I studied the ins and outs of computer programming for about 6 months. I learned how to code with HTML/CSS, a little bit of JQuery, some JavaScript, & Ruby languages.

I also learned some basic commands on the command line, and still use them from time to time.

There were so many great free online tutorials that I used in order to learn quickly, effectively, and all without spending a dime. I’ll post some of my favorite tools, just in case any of you are interested in learning how to code!

To learn HTML & CSS:

To learn Ruby:

To learn Command Line:

To learn JavaScript:

To learn JQuery:

Honestly, I was really intimidated and afraid to even begin learning this stuff! It definitely did not come natural to me, but it’s really not as hard as people make it out to be. These tutorials make it nearly painless to learn the material and each lesson is explained really well.

Last year I created a few pages, myself, using HTML & CSS. Take a look if you’re interested:

Go on, try it for yourself! Just play around with it and see what it’s like. I think you’ll find that it’s quite a lot of fun! (Then, maybe you’ll be able to do some cool stuff & show your friends!)

If you have any questions about getting started, feel free to leave me a note on the site! And as usual, comments and feedback are always welcome : )
